Description: Saint Joseph’s Hospital is a mission hospital located in the neighbourhood of Congo Town, in Monrovia (Liberia) and founded in 1963 by the Brothers of Saint John of God. The hospital is staffed by 11 doctors who treat all types of patients. Since 1972, the Hospital has had a Health Centre in the New Kru Town neighbourhood, one of the most neglected in the city.
The hospital has 141 beds in 5 units, 3 ICU beds, 4 operating theatres, 2 delivery rooms, 24h emergency and 8 consulting rooms. The medical specialities are Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics. In addition, medical examinations, visa applications and medical check-ups are carried out.
The Parentes Foundation has supported the hospital in the construction of a neonatal care unit.

Scope: The new neonatal care unit is equipped to care for 5 patients.
