On October 28, 29, and 30th, the Parentes Foundation held the III Training Day for School Leaders, focusing this year on a fundamental pillar: Character Education. This edition was specially directed towards Skola Parentes in Prague and Rino Institut in Zagreb, two young but outstanding educational centres in their respective countries, which have managed to stand out in less than ten years thanks to their commitment to holistic education that goes beyond academics.
Throughout the conference, we emphasised the importance of providing students with a comprehensive education, blending academic knowledge with values and virtues that lay a solid foundation for their future. The agenda covered key topics such as tutoring, the role of school leaders and teachers, KPIs of Christian work, and the school programme for parents—all essential pillars in the character formation of students.
In addition to receiving training from professionals in various fields, the school leaders from Prague and Zagreb participated in a collaborative work exercise. In this activity, both teams addressed key obstacles to implementing their educational project, highlighting the importance of an operational vision that prioritises not only academic achievements but also human development.
As part of the conference, we took advantage of the visit to showcase some of the projects that the Educational Network leads in Madrid. We organised a visit to Parentes Sagrado Corazón School, where they could observe innovative practices such as the Atelier and the “Learning to Be a Person” programme, sharing experiences and establishing valuable connections.
To close on a high note, we had the support of three key figures in the educational field, renowned for their extensive experience and leadership: Alfonso Aguiló, President of the Arenales Foundation; José Luis Alier, Headmaster of Retamar School; and Miguel Arrufat, President of the Proeduca Group. The experience and vision of these experts were invaluable during sessions of reflection and learning. The teams from Skola Parentes, Lotrščak, and Ružičnjak presented their conclusions to them, receiving valuable insights that strengthen our educational approach. Furthermore, they were encouraged to develop a master plan that can be effectively implemented in their schools.
Beyond the academic realm, the visit also included a cultural tour of some of the most iconic places in Madrid and its surroundings. Highlights included the prestigious Prado Museum and the rich cultural heritage of Toledo.
For the Parentes Educational Network, these conferences represent an excellent opportunity to strengthen international collaboration, exchange knowledge, and, above all, reaffirm our commitment to educational excellence on a global scale. We sincerely thank the teams from Skola Parentes and Rino for their enthusiasm and participation in this collaborative forum. We are confident that such meetings strengthen the foundation of the Educational Network and give meaning to its mission of providing quality education.
