Why Learn to be a person?

Project developed by Orvalle

Today’s students receive messages about the person and happiness with such variety, intensity and complexity that it is difficult to form them with an anthropological foundation that integrates intelligence, will and heart.

We want to help them learn how to answer the usual questions: Where do I come from, where am I going and how can I be happy? The “Learning to be a person” program has a solid foundation that will allow them to adequately interpret and improve the world in which they live.

This proposal takes up the challenge of educating in a liquid world, a concept with which the sociologist Zygmunt Bauman defined contemporary culture: today’s students live in a context of relativism and lack of commitment, with an overabundance of information; and, at the same time, they feel challenged to fight to reduce the ills of society.

What does the learn to be a person program consist of?

This is Orvalle’s own program with a proven methodology, in which students (ages 6 to 18) learn the most important anthropological concepts through a series of specific activities.

Who is the target audience?

Objectives

ONE
To discover and experience the keys to happiness, beyond the current paradigm of success, to which we are all subjected.

TWO
To develop sensitivity to what is truly valuable and encourage them to acquire the ability not to react to stimuli but to make decisions, to be free.

Pillars

1

The human person possesses a way of being that he has not given himself. If he knows and lives according to this instruction manual, he will find happiness and meaning in his own existence.

2

The truth of the person consists in a unique and unrepeatable dignity beyond the circumstantial. This dignity is like a compass that develops when it points to goodness, beauty and love.

3

From the understanding of this idea of person, a way of looking at reality, of feeling, of positioning oneself, etc., emerges. These attitudes, when they become virtues, provide the capacity to be authentic persons.
