Description: Since its foundation in 1633, the Company of the Daughters of Charity has been committed to education as a privileged means for the integral formation of children and young people. They have a network of 30 schools in different Latin American countries, most of which are located in very impoverished neighbourhoods.

The support of the Parentes Foundation is aimed at improving the state of the facilities of some schools that are in a state of deterioration and require renovation, renewing the furniture for some classrooms, as well as rehabilitating the water supply and sanitation systems or maintaining generators. On the other hand, support is provided for the acquisition of information equipment for the centres that need it and textbooks for students. Training in good teaching practices has also been provided for teachers, and training in management, educational leadership and technological skills for coordinators and directors. The programme also includes scholarships for the most vulnerable students to guarantee their access to education.

Scope: Through the 30 schools, more than 20,000 students and teachers are benefiting from improved facilities, access to technology and scholarships for the most vulnerable students.
